Trump does not rule out new steps against Iran
U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that the conflict with Iran will end soon, while not ruling out that new measures could be taken against Tehran.
Operativ Media reports that Trump spoke about this during a speech at a congressional midterm election rally in Alaska.
“Wait and see what we do about Iran. We will play a game with them. Because, frankly, we are sick and tired of all this,” the U.S. leader said. He did not provide further details regarding Washington's potential actions.
Emphasizing that the United States is very close to victory, Trump said the war would end soon.
On October 8, the U.S. President announced that they had no intention of striking Iran prior to the congressional midterm elections on November 3.
The U.S. and Israel launched military operations against Iran on February 28. In June, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding providing for an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon.
However, on the night of July 8, the U.S. resumed large-scale strikes against Iran, citing violations of the terms of the agreement concerning the Strait of Hormuz.
Subsequent position statements by the U.S. administration indicated plans to halt the use of large-scale military force and focus on exerting economic pressure on Iran through sanctions.
