Devlet Bahceli: Azerbaijan and Turkey are two strong states of the same geography of the heart
“From the Aegean to the Caspian, from the past to the future, Turkey and Azerbaijan are two strong states of the same geography of the heart.”
Operativ Media reports that this was stated by Devlet Bahceli, chairman of Türkiye's Nationalist Movement Party (MHP).
"It is of paramount importance to act on the basis of common sense, mutual understanding, and shared wisdom in the face of any approach aimed at damaging the brotherly relations between the two countries. Türkiye's upcoming presidency of the Organization of Turkic States is both a significant responsibility and an opportunity created by these dynamics. Relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan are one of the strongest pillars of this process. The historical, cultural, and brotherly ties between the two countries carry a meaning far broader than political processes; they are rooted in the shared memory and spiritual unity of our peoples."
He expressed his confidence that the upcoming meeting between President of Azerbaijan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Karabakh Victory Ilham Aliyev and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the OTS summit will once again demonstrate the unshakeable spirit of Turkish-Azerbaijani brotherhood.
"Our course is clear. Without allowing any seeds of discord to be sown that could harm the brotherly relations and spiritual bonds among the Turkic nations, first and foremost Azerbaijan, our goal is to deepen cooperation based on mutual respect for the sovereignty and independence of the Turkic republics, build our shared future in full awareness of the responsibility history has bestowed upon us, and align the goal of the 'Century of Turks and Türkiye' with the rise of the Turkic world," he noted.
