Mourinho: "Diomande reminds me of young Vinicius"

Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho commented on Yan Diomande's performance, comparing the young forward to Vinicius Junior.

Operativ Media reports that the specialist spoke about the player's development following the La Liga Matchday 9 game against Sevilla, which ended in a 4-1 victory.

Mourinho noted that although Diomande frequently gets into dangerous attacking positions, he lacks composure at crucial moments. According to him, the player needs to learn to lift his head to see his teammates and make the right decision.

"Diomande reminds me of Vinicius when he first arrived at Real Madrid. Three years later, Vinicius had already developed into a top-class player," Mourinho emphasized.

In the match against Sevilla, the 19-year-old Ivorian footballer scored a goal and provided an assist.

In the 2026/27 season, Diomande has made 11 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
