Manchester United and Liverpool are considering options to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha.

Operativ Media reports, citing TEAMtalk, that Manchester United has already contacted representatives of the 26-year-old German footballer as the club evaluates options ahead of the winter transfer window. Meanwhile, Liverpool considers Nmecha an alternative if a potential transfer for Bournemouth player Alex Scott falls through.

Born in Hamburg, Nmecha spent more than 10 years at Manchester City's academy. He has extended his contract with Borussia until June 2030.

The Dortmund club is not keen on selling the player in January. According to reports, there is no release clause that can be activated in the winter transfer window, while an €80 million buyout clause will only come into force in the summer of 2027. The club's current valuation of the player is between €90 million and €99.9 million.

Borussia sporting director Ole Buk previously stated that a sale of Nmecha was extremely unlikely.

In addition to Manchester United and Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Newcastle, Manchester City, and Arsenal are also reportedly interested in Nmecha.

The midfielder recorded 6 goals and 3 assists in 47 appearances during the 2025/2026 season.

The Transfermarkt portal values his market value at €65 million.
