Barcelona files complaint to UEFA over PSG fans' banner
Barcelona has submitted an official complaint to UEFA regarding a banner displayed by fans during their UEFA Champions League main stage Round 3 match against PSG (2-4).
Operativ Media reports, citing Spanish outlet Marca.
Before the match, fans of the Paris side displayed a banner in the stands reading "Paris Massacre." The banner featured a masked figure resembling Jason Voorhees from the "Friday the 13th" film franchise. Dressed in a PSG jersey, the character was depicted cutting Barcelona's crest with a chainsaw.
According to reports, representatives of the Catalan club considered the banner offensive and submitted a complaint to the UEFA delegate at halftime. Barcelona officials also requested the removal of other banners containing offensive slurs directed at Catalans from the stands.
Barcelona currently sit fifth in the main stage of the Champions League with six points. The team will host Aston Villa in Round 4 on November 3.
