Platini urges Infantino to resign
Operativ Media
Former UEFA President Michel Platini has called on FIFA head Gianni Infantino to resign for violating the rules of the sport.
Operativ Media reports that the former official criticized the innovations introduced for the 2026 World Cup, including additional breaks during matches and extending the halftime break in the final match to 30 minutes.
According to Platini, it is impossible to remove Infantino from office through sports governing bodies, and the issue can only be resolved in court. He claimed that his colleague has always been driven by money and power.
To recall, in June of this year, Michel Platini, through his lawyers in Paris, filed a criminal complaint against Gianni Infantino and five other Swiss football officials. The former official accused them of making false allegations and abusing their authority to prevent him from taking the post of FIFA president ten years ago.
