Bruno Fernandes equals Ronaldo's record in Manchester United history
Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes scored a hat-trick in a 5-2 home victory over Ipswich Town in the second round of the English championship.
Operativ Media reports, citing the Squawka statistics portal, that the 31-year-old Portuguese player has now scored three hat-tricks for the Red Devils, equaling the record of his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo, who played for the club from 2003 to 2009 and 2021 to 2022.
The midfielder, who has been playing for the English club since January 2020, is under contract until June 30, 2027. Named the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Player of the Year for the 2025/26 season, he became only the second Portuguese player to win the award, following Ronaldo, who claimed the honor in the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons.
