On September 26, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Alexandr Ospelt, President of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation.

Operativ Media reports that during the conversation, the sides noted Azerbaijan's successful hosting of prestigious international sporting events, including winter sports competitions, highlighting the high-level organization of the Formula 1 races in Baku.

They pointed out the creation of modern winter ski infrastructure in Azerbaijan and emphasized that several prestigious competitions would be held at the Shahdag Tourism Center under the auspices of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation.

The role of the partnership agreement signed last year between the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan and the International Ski and Snowboard Federation was highlighted in terms of developing the country's potential for winter tourism and winter sports.

The meeting also saw an exchange of views on the prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Federation.
