Milan player sets record in Europa League
AC Milan midfielder Alphadjo Cisse scored a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Salzburg in the second round of the Europa League league phase, achieving the feat at 19 years and 358 days old.
Operativ Media reports, citing sports analytics provider Opta, that Cisse has become the youngest Italian footballer to score three goals in a single European competition match.
The previous record was set just two days earlier by Brugge forward Nicolo Tresoldi, who was 22 years and 54 days old when he netted a hat-trick against Inter Milan (4-3) in the Champions League.
Prior to Tresoldi, the record belonged to Alessandro Del Piero, who scored three times in a 4-1 Champions League semi-final victory against Monaco during the 1997/98 season at 23 years and 144 days old.
