A major update is being introduced to Azerbaijan's visa system in line with international tourism trends as part of the State Program for Tourism Development in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030.

Operativ Media reports that, in light of the rapid global expansion of remote work following the pandemic, there are plans to establish a dedicated "digital nomad" visa subcategory for foreign professionals and freelancers.
