In 2025, the value added generated by tourism-related activities in Azerbaijan amounted to approximately 7 billion manats.

Operativ Media reports that Fuad Naghiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, said this during a session held as part of the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum.

He stated that the share of tourism in the country's economy has reached approximately 5.4%. Fuad Naghiyev noted that tourism plays an important role in diversifying the economy.

The agency chairman pointed out that a new State Program for tourism development for 2026–2030 has been adopted. According to him, one of the main priorities of the program is to create a more favorable and competitive investment environment.

Fuad Naghiyev said that within the framework of the program, a new mechanism for interest rate subsidies on loans is planned for investment projects in hotels, health and resort facilities, winter tourism facilities, as well as conference infrastructure.

“This program serves as a roadmap for the next four years,” said the chairman of the State Tourism Agency.

He added that the program also includes mechanisms for subsidizing investments in accommodation infrastructure, supporting additional regular and charter flights, attracting international tourists, and supporting tourism-related events, as well as micro and small tourism businesses.

Fuad Naghiyev emphasized the importance of developing tourism and recreation zones in terms of expanding investment opportunities.
