Iraq's daily oil production exceeds 5 million barrels
Iraq's daily oil production has exceeded 5 million barrels.
Operativ Media reports, citing the country's Oil Minister Basim Mohammed Khudair.
The minister stated that although Iraq has increased its daily oil production to more than 5 million barrels, it complies with the export quota set by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). Currently, the country's daily export limit is 4.33 million barrels.
According to Khudair, Baghdad is in talks with OPEC to increase its export quota. He stated that Iraq deserves a higher quota considering the specific challenges it has faced over the past 50 years.
The minister noted that an increased production quota would enable the country to obtain the financial revenue required for infrastructure development and the implementation of state development plans.
