Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov has met with Ruslan Edelgeriyev, Aide to the President of the Russian Federation and Special Presidential Representative on Climate and Water Issues.

The Ministry of Agriculture informed Operativ Media about the meeting.

During the meeting, the sides reviewed the current state of bilateral agricultural cooperation, emphasizing that ties in the agrarian sector continue to expand alongside other areas of the economy.

The discussions covered the declining water levels of the Caspian Sea, the modernization of irrigation systems to conserve water resources—a key objective of Azerbaijan's new State Program for agriculture—and the organization of joint trials for drought- and disease-resistant crop varieties. The officials also addressed mutual participation in international exhibitions, trade fairs, and agricultural festivals hosted in both countries, as well as other priority matters of mutual interest.
