UEFA could punish Sabah - REASON
UEFA could penalize Sabah FC.
Operativ Media reports that an incident occurred between fans of Sabah FC and Danish supporters before yesterday's match.
Aarhus sports director Jacob Nielsen spoke to his country's media about the matter.
"The day before the match, we warned that our fans were not segregated from the home team's supporters at the stadium. Two hours before the game, a group of 40–50 Sabah fans dressed in black attacked Aarhus supporters just as they arrived at the stadium and got out of their minibuses.
The 150 police officers at the scene were completely unaware of this attack.
This was because the officers were standing on the opposite side of the stands waiting to search Aarhus fans as they entered the stadium. We have already submitted an official complaint to UEFA regarding what happened before the match. We also spoke with a UEFA representative about the incident. We are currently gathering the necessary information and evidence. Usually, away fans are kept in a separate zone.
In fact, UEFA regulations clearly state that visiting supporters must be segregated from other spectators."
It should be noted that Sabah defeated Danish champion Aarhus 4-0 to advance to the Champions League play-off round.
