Ilham Aliyev: Your Moral and Political Support Lifted Our Spirits

"The moral and political support you provided lifted our spirits."

Operativ Media reports that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said this at a joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Shusha.

"During the 44 days, the Azerbaijani Army liberated more than 300 cities and villages on the battlefield. Three thousand were martyred in the fighting. May Allah rest the souls of all our martyrs; their blood was not shed in vain. They were avenged on the battlefield, and historical justice was restored."

The president noted that a normalization process is currently underway between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"I hope this process will lead to concrete results. As you know, Armenia and Azerbaijan initialed a peace agreement over a year ago. However, the final signatures have not been affixed yet. There are certain reasons for this," Ilham Aliyev said.
