President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has stated that education is one of the key priorities in the country's development.

Operativ Media reports that President Ilham Aliyev said this during his speech at an event themed "Restoring Trust in a Fragmented World: The South Caucasus as a Pillar of Global Connectivity and Investment Stability," organized as part of the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum in Baku.

The head of state noted that it is impossible to achieve the set goals without well-trained personnel.

“There are several factors here. One of them is capacity building, and a lot of work is currently being done in the field of education. The Cybersecurity Center, which has been operating for some time, is the first important step in this direction,” Ilham Aliyev emphasized.

The president noted that Azerbaijan has important advantages, such as cheap energy opportunities and a favorable geographical location.

“We are located between Europe and Asia. We have fiber-optic lines extending to the north and west. By the end of this year, we will complete the project connecting Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan along the bottom of the Caspian Sea,” the head of state said.

Ilham Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan wants to act in line with the general development trends of the global economy.

“To this end, we must actively work with partners such as hyperscale technology companies, the institution you represent, and the organization I met with yesterday, so that they look at Azerbaijan in terms of investment opportunities,” the president noted.

The head of state said that security, a favorable investment climate, predictable tax regulations, and a favorable economic environment for investors are the main prerequisites for this.

“If these are attractive enough, we will succeed. Otherwise, we will ask our partners to let us know what else needs to be done for them to come to Azerbaijan as long-term investors,” Ilham Aliyev emphasized.
