On September 25, Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan at his invitation.

During the meeting, the sides noted the successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan based on friendship and mutual respect, emphasizing that the Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed in 2024 was an important milestone in the development of bilateral ties.

It was noted that the political will and joint efforts of Heads of State Ilham Aliyev and Emomali Rahmon played a decisive role in bringing Azerbaijan-Tajikistan relations to their current high level.

The mutual support the two countries extend to each other within regional and international organizations was highly appreciated.

The positive dynamics observed in mutual trade were noted with satisfaction. At the same time, the significant potential for further expanding trade and economic cooperation was emphasized.

The importance of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, as well as the Azerbaijan-Tajikistan Business Council and business forum formats, was highlighted in terms of expanding direct contacts between business circles and implementing new joint initiatives.

The sides discussed more efficient utilization of favorable cooperation opportunities in the transport and transit sector.

The growing role of the Middle Corridor as a key transport route between Asia and Europe, as well as the additional opportunities created by the Zangezur corridor in the region's new transport architecture, were noted.

It was stated that there are good prospects for developing mutually beneficial cooperation in the energy sector, particularly in renewable energy.

Views were also exchanged on cooperation opportunities in the field of public service delivery.

Satisfaction was expressed with the development of ties in cultural, humanitarian, and educational fields. It was noted that the agreement on the mutual allocation of annual educational quotas creates additional opportunities for students.

The heads of government discussed issues related to further deepening the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan in all areas and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
