Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bahamas, Fred Mitchell, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Operativ Media reports that the meeting focused on the development prospects of bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Bahamas, as well as issues of mutual interest.

The sides emphasized the importance of establishing a strategic dialogue and exploring new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding on political consultations was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. It was noted that the document will contribute to the development of regular diplomatic contacts and the expansion of bilateral partnership.
