President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Operativ Media reports that the letter reads:

"Dear Serdar Gurbangulyevich,

On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I extend my most sincere congratulations and best wishes to you and all your people on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan.

Over the past period, Turkmenistan has covered a path of great development, achieved significant success in strengthening its independence and socio-economic progress, and gained high prestige in the international arena. Azerbaijan sincerely rejoices in these achievements of your brotherly country and always supports Turkmenistan's policy of permanent neutrality, which has gained wide recognition worldwide.

The current level of Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan relations, which stem from the will of our peoples who are closely bound by historical roots, shared national and spiritual values, and ties of good neighborliness, is gratifying.

The existence of mutual understanding at the highest level creates a favorable basis for deepening our cooperation in various fields, particularly in trade, economic, energy, transport-logistics, cultural-humanitarian, and other areas. In this regard, I highly appreciate your state visit to Azerbaijan in June and emphasize that the talks we held, the documents signed, and the agreements reached during the visit are of particular importance for strengthening the friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.
