Work Begins on Underwater Fiber-Optic Cable Connecting Baku and Aktau

The laying of an underwater communication line between Baku and Aktau is scheduled to take 15 to 20 days.

Operativ Media reports that the total length of the cable laid along the bed of the Caspian Sea will be 391 kilometers. The network created under the project will have a maximum data transmission capacity of 400 terabits per second.

The overall project is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
