Azerbaijan's strategic currency reserves stand at approximately $91 billion.

Operativ Media reports that Prime Minister Ali Asadov said this during discussions on the 2027 state and consolidated budget drafts.

According to him, Azerbaijan's strategic currency reserves exceed the country's external public debt by nearly 20 times.

Ali Asadov noted that as of September 1, Azerbaijan's direct external public debt stood at $4.5 billion. This amount is equivalent to 5.6% of the projected GDP.

According to the prime minister, the surplus in Azerbaijan's foreign trade balance exceeded $10 billion in the first eight months of 2026.
