Trump Announces Upcoming U.S.-Iran Talks Scheduled for August 3

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that Washington and Tehran will hold talks on August 3.

Operativ Media reports that the American leader informed journalists aboard his plane en route to Washington.

According to Trump, the negotiations will begin in the afternoon. He expressed hope that the dialogue would prevent further escalation.

"We will engage in dialogue with them in a negotiations format. They will start tomorrow afternoon. I would like it to be so. This will save many lives and allow preventing future tension," the U.S. President said.

He also claimed that Washington and Tehran have already reached an agreement regarding shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, the next phase should focus on Iran's nuclear program and signing an agreement on the denuclearization of the Islamic Republic.

"There is an agreement on the Strait of Hormuz, and then there will be an agreement on the nuclear program, or as I call it, the denuclearization of Iran," the American leader concluded.
