Neymar Says He Is Not Thinking About Retirement Yet

The father of Brazilian forward Neymar has not ruled out the 34-year-old footballer resuming his international career.

Operativ Media reports that insider Fabrizio Romano shared the news on his X social media account.

Neymar's father stated he could not guarantee 100 percent that his son's international career was over, adding that a return to the national team remains possible. The forward himself reacted with a smile, saying, "It's not my father playing for the national team."

The experienced player highlighted that he is not yet thinking about retiring:

"I have a contract with Santos until December, and right now I want to do my best for my club. After that, I will evaluate my options: staying, leaving, retiring, or continuing to play... I don't know. There is still time until December, we'll see."

Neymar, who announced on July 29 that he had played his last 2026 World Cup match, made his debut for the Brazil national team in 2010. He has scored 80 goals and provided 59 assists in 130 appearances for his country, making him the national team's all-time top scorer.
