Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has received Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Kyiv during his official visit to Ukraine.

Operativ Media reports that the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan released details regarding the meeting.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the current state and future prospects of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, including political dialogue, energy, transport, humanitarian cooperation, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Both parties emphasized the importance of advancing strategic partnership relations built on friendship and mutual respect. They noted that the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations will be celebrated next year, adding that sustained high-level political dialogue and mutual visits have contributed significantly to expanding bilateral cooperation.

It was noted that Zelensky's visit to Azerbaijan in April of this year and the agreements reached during that trip played a key role in raising bilateral ties to a qualitatively new level.

The meeting also covered regional security, the situation in Ukraine, and other pressing items on the international agenda.

Azerbaijan reaffirmed its consistent support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.

President Zelensky expressed deep gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani government for their ongoing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.

Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to further developing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across various sectors.

Operativ Media reports that Jeyhun Bayramov shared details of the meeting on his X account.

The discussions focused extensively on the current state and future prospects of the Azerbaijan–Ukraine strategic partnership. The sides touched upon political dialogue, energy, transport, humanitarian cooperation, as well as regional and international matters of mutual concern.

Jeyhun Bayramov briefed President Zelensky on the post-conflict situation in the South Caucasus, efforts to advance the peace agenda, and large-scale reconstruction projects underway in Azerbaijan's liberated territories.

The foreign minister also noted that President Zelensky highly praised Azerbaijan's humanitarian aid to Ukraine and expressed appreciation to President Ilham Aliyev for his continued support.

Operativ Media reports that Zelensky posted about the meeting on his Telegram channel.

"I received Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov. This is the minister's first visit to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion. He began his visit in Irpin, where he visited a school, hospital, and rehabilitation center supported by Azerbaijan. We are very grateful that you found the opportunity to come here and support us during these difficult days for our country and people. Thank you for your solidarity with the Ukrainian people," Zelensky wrote.

Zelensky stated that he briefed Bayramov on ongoing Russian strikes against Ukraine, the situation in the Black Sea, and Russia's blockade of grain corridors.

The two sides discussed high-level diplomatic contacts, defense cooperation, as well as economic collaboration in energy, oil and gas, and agriculture.

"I am grateful to Azerbaijan for its support, energy and humanitarian assistance, as well as constructive dialogue," Zelensky said.
