Murad Fetiyev, who was wanted internationally for organizing separatist activities, has been arrested.

Operativ Media reports, citing the press service of the State Security Service.

According to the service, ongoing operational-search measures ensured that Murad Garib oglu Fetiyev, who had been placed on an international wanted list since 2025, was brought to Azerbaijan to face investigation.

It was established that Fetiyev, acting on instructions from radical centers operated from abroad, created various groups on social media to disrupt the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan and incite national hatred and hostility. He recruited members of an ethnic minority living both in Azerbaijan and abroad who harbored extremist ideas into these groups.

Additionally, he organized the selection of individuals among them who were particularly radicalized, directed the collection of intelligence on key strategic facilities across the country, and organized open calls for terrorism.

Earlier, several members of this criminal group were arrested and brought to criminal liability for taking preparatory actions to raid a state enterprise and take hostages in order to undermine the defense capabilities and economic security of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
