A trilateral meeting was held in Washington on August 10 between Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov, US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Alison Hooker, and Armenia's Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan.

The meeting took place on the first anniversary of the historic Washington Summit held on August 8, 2025, and was dedicated to the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current status and next steps regarding the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative. Discussions focused on advancing the implementation of relevant agreements, as well as efforts to realize TRIPP's potential to foster unimpeded regional connectivity, economic development, and sustainable peace.

 The parties also discussed the ongoing border delimitation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, emphasizing the importance of continuing practical work in this direction based on existing agreements.

Special attention was paid to confidence-building measures that support mutual trust and the sustainable execution of the peace process.

The parties expressed their gratitude to the US for hosting the trilateral meeting on the first anniversary of the Washington Summit and stressed the importance of turning commitments into concrete results.

The meeting was attended by Armenia's Deputy Foreign Minister and Acting Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan, Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov, and US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Alison Hooker.

Vahan Kostanyan praised US President Donald Trump's personal contribution to organizing last year's summit and institutionalizing peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia over the past year.

During the talks, the parties exchanged views on positive progress achieved, infrastructure projects underway in the region, and steps taken toward confidence building.

The importance of addressing ongoing humanitarian issues was also emphasized.
