PSG Consider Selling Matvey Safonov or Lucas Chevalier in 2027
French club Paris Saint-Germain is planning to part ways with either goalkeeper Matvei Safonov or Lucas Chevalier in the summer of 2027.
Operativ Media reports, citing French sports daily L'Equipe.
According to the report, the Parisian side is preparing to sign Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki for €35 million. The 23-year-old Japanese international is expected to spend the 2026/2027 season on loan at Juventus before joining PSG's first team a year later. Following Suzuki's arrival, PSG management plans to part with either Safonov or Chevalier, depending on the outcome of their competition for the starting spot.
Russian goalkeeper Matvei Safonov, 27, has been with PSG since 2024 and is under contract until 2029. Meanwhile, 24-year-old French keeper Lucas Chevalier, who signed a five-year contract in the summer of 2025, lost the battle for the starting spot to Safonov during the 2025/2026 season.
