One year ago today, President Trump secured peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan by hosting Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the White House to witness the signing of their historic Joint Declaration.

Operativ Media reports, citing a statement from the U.S. Department of State.

“This declaration ended decades of conflict in the South Caucasus and paved the way for Trump’s Route for International Peace and Prosperity [TRIPP].

Over the past twelve months, the United States has worked side-by-side with Armenia and Azerbaijan to turn this promise into progress,” the statement noted.

TRIPP — a multimodal transit route designed to modernize rail, road, energy, and digital infrastructure — is becoming a reality, with engineering surveys for railways already underway in Armenia and Azerbaijan nearly completing the construction of highways and rail connections linking to Armenia.

Peace has opened doors to strengthening ties between the United States, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, which will drive economic prosperity across all three nations. 

“Today, we are pleased to announce the launch of the Trans-Caspian Enterprise Fund, governed by a newly elected board of directors and capitalized with $201 million in U.S. government funding to promote private-sector investment along the Trans-Caspian Trade Route (Middle Corridor) in the South Caucasus and Central Asia.”

The United States remains fully committed to working with Armenia and Azerbaijan. “We congratulate both nations on the courage and vision demonstrated over the past year and look forward to continued progress toward a durable and lasting peace in the South Caucasus.”
