The new head coach of the Netherlands national team has been announced.

Operativ Media reports, citing the national team's press service, that the role has been entrusted to Xavi Hernandez.

A contract has been signed with the Spanish manager running through the 2030 World Cup.

Xavi replaces Ronald Koeman, who resigned following the 2026 World Cup.

The former Spain and Barcelona player managed Qatar's Al Sadd from 2019 to 2021 and served as Barcelona's head coach from 2021 to 2024. Under Xavi's tenure, the Catalan club won the Spanish La Liga title and the Spanish Super Cup.
