Azerbaijan and China expand expertise exchange in energy sector

A delegation representing Azerbaijan's energy sector is participating in a specialized training and technical study program in China.

Operativ Media reports, citing the Ministry of Energy, that China's Datang Corporation organized the program for Azerbaijani energy specialists. The two-week initiative aims to further develop energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and China, foster the exchange of expertise on advanced technologies, and expand professional ties.

Speaking via video link at the program's opening, Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov emphasized the significance of the training for advancing bilateral energy partnership.

Datang Corporation Deputy General Manager Li Deyong welcomed the participants and conveyed his best wishes for the program's successful execution.

The curriculum provides participants with presentations and practical insights into wind and hydrogen energy, advanced energy storage systems—including compressed air energy storage (CAES)—integrated wind-solar-storage systems, modern high-efficiency gas turbines, conventional hydroelectric power plants, and pumped-storage hydropower stations.

A major part of the itinerary includes technical visits to advanced industrial and energy projects in Chengdu and Chongqing, giving Azerbaijani specialists firsthand experience in the application, operation, and grid integration of modern energy technologies.

The delegation comprises officials and specialists from the Ministry of Energy, the State Agency on Renewable Energy Sources, Azerenerji OJSC, and Azerishiq OJSC.
