President Ilham Aliyev views Uzbekistan's largest urban development project 'New Tashkent'
On August 23, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited Uzbekistan's largest urban development project, "New Tashkent."
Operativ Media reports that the project represents a new urban development model integrating the country's economy, investment policy, transport network, education, ecology, and digital technologies into a single space. More than 260,000 new jobs are expected to be created upon its full completion, while over 10,000 workers are currently employed across the construction sites. A key innovative solution implemented in "New Tashkent" is trigeneration technology, which integrates electricity generation, heating, and cooling within a single technological chain.
The development will feature modern administrative buildings for more than 60 government agencies, hotels, restaurants, service centers, business complexes, tourism facilities, "New Uzbekistan" University, a new complex for the National Library of Uzbekistan, scientific laboratories, multimedia centers, museums, sports facilities, and a student campus. The "Sharq Bahari" complex under construction on the site will be one of Central Asia's largest residential developments, with approximately 15,000 apartments planned across an area of 95 hectares.
