Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan attaches special importance to developing cooperation within OIC
Azerbaijan attaches special importance to developing cooperation and strengthening solidarity and mutual support within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), making continuous efforts in this direction.
Operativ Media reports that President Ilham Aliyev stated this in a message to the participants of the third high-level meeting of heads of anti-corruption authorities of OIC member states held in Baku.
The address noted that corruption is a crime that undermines public trust in state institutions and harms social justice, fair competition, and economic development. "In some cases, the cross-border nature of such crimes necessitates taking appropriate measures at both the national and international levels. In this regard, the 'Makkah Al-Mukarramah Convention on Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Cooperation for OIC Member States' is a strategic document that forms a unified legal platform in this field. Azerbaijan's accession to this Convention is of great importance for developing international cooperation," the head of state emphasized in his message.
