Cristiano Ronaldo ends international career

Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr, has retired from the Portugal national team.

Operativ Media reports that the 41-year-old forward announced his decision on his social media account.

Ronaldo had played for the Portugal national team since 2003. He won the European Championship with the team in 2016, as well as the UEFA Nations League in the 2018/2019 and 2024/2025 seasons.

Most recently, the experienced forward left the Portugal national team camp without permission following a UEFA Nations League match against Norway (2:1). The federation subsequently handed him a one-month suspension and fined him 255 euros.
