Greek striker sets Champions League record
Como's Greek forward Anastasios Douvikas has continued his prolific streak by scoring in a fourth consecutive match in the UEFA Champions League main stage.
Operativ Media reports that the 27-year-old forward scored a hat-trick in the Matchday 4 away fixture against Lens. The match, played on November 4, ended in a 9-1 victory for the Italian side.
In doing so, Douvikas matched the achievement of his fellow countryman Vangelis Pavlidis. Both players have now managed to score in four consecutive matches in the tournament's main stage.
This season, Douvikas scored once in matches against Leipzig (4-1), Feyenoord (2-3), and Manchester United (4-1), and netted three times against Lens. With six goals in four matches, the striker leads the tournament's scoring charts after Matchday 4.
