We are grateful to Azerbaijan for its contributions to our joint fight against global terrorism.

Operativ Media reports that this was stated in a message from the US Embassy in Azerbaijan.

According to the statement, the staff of the US Embassy in Azerbaijan gathered today to honor the memory of nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and their aftermath.

“Together, we remembered the victims of the attacks and their families, the first responders who courageously faced unimaginable danger, as well as everyone whose lives were changed forever after that tragic day.

We also recalled that after the attacks, many countries around the world, including Azerbaijan, demonstrated solidarity with the United States. US and Azerbaijani servicemen served shoulder-to-shoulder as part of the coalition forces in Afghanistan. We are grateful to Azerbaijan for its contributions to our joint fight against global terrorism.

Twenty-five years ago, terrorists attacked the United States in an attempt to threaten the American way of life. Out of the darkness, the eternal truth of the American character shone for the whole world to see. The terrorists failed in their mission — they could not break the spirit of our nation,” the statement noted.
