On the first day of their visit to Karabakh and East Zangezur, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan toured several sites in the cities of Khankendi and Shusha.

Operativ Media reports that, in accordance with the itinerary, the diplomats first inspected the ongoing work at the Khankendi Railway and Bus Station Complex, where they were briefed on the progress.

They then visited the Culture Center in Khankendi, where Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, welcomed the delegation. The diplomats also visited Victory Park and took a commemorative photo in front of the Victory Arch.

The itinerary also included a visit to Karabakh University, where the delegation was briefed on the facilities and the institution's operations.

Next, the diplomatic corps visited the AzCotton LLC garment factory operating in Khankendi to learn about its operations.

The trip continued in the city of Shusha, where the diplomats were briefed on the restoration and reconstruction work underway. They also inspected the construction of the New Shusha Mosque.

The delegation then visited Jidir Duzu plain, Karabakh Street, Shusha's central square, the House of Sadigjan, and the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque. They also viewed the bullet-riddled busts located in Shusha's central square.

The diplomats viewed the "Heydar Aliyev and Karabakh" exhibition at the Shusha Creative Center, followed by a visit to the Shusha Fortress walls, where they took a commemorative photo.

The representatives of the diplomatic corps also toured the facilities in the first residential neighborhood and met with Shusha residents.

The delegation members also attended an official reception organized in Shusha to mark the Independence Day of the United Mexican States.

The visit will continue on September 12.
