Ebola cases in Congo surpass 7,000

The number of confirmed Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has surpassed 7,000.

Operativ Media reports, citing the country's Ministry of Health.

According to the report, the death toll from the virus has reached 3,398.

The World Health Organization notes that the spread of the epidemic to new areas is complicating response efforts. A shortage of trained specialists, local partner organizations, and funding remains the main challenge.
