The Portuguese Football Federation plans to hold a special farewell ceremony for Cristiano Ronaldo following the conclusion of his international career.

Operativ Media reports that on November 5, the 41-year-old forward shared a five-minute video on his social media accounts, addressing the people of Portugal and announcing his decision to retire from the national team.

The federation expressed its desire to give Ronaldo a fitting send-off. In a statement, the organization noted that every effort will be made to organize an event dedicated to the player's storied career and to allow fans to pay their respects to him one last time.

Ronaldo played his final match for Portugal on September 24 in the Nations League against Wales, which ended in a 1-0 victory for the Portuguese side. Following the game, the player departed the national team camp under controversial circumstances.

Having represented Portugal since 2003, Ronaldo scored 146 goals in 234 appearances. He won the European Championship with the national team in 2016 and lifted the Nations League trophy twice (in 2018/19 and 2024/25).
