U.S. leader Donald Trump has stated that the Mecca pact demonstrates the ability of regional states to unite and defend themselves.

​Operativ Media reports that in a post on the Truth Social network, the U.S. president expressed his satisfaction with Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan signing the Mecca pact on collective defense. Emphasizing that this step shows Middle Eastern nations demonstrating unity and the capability to protect themselves more effectively, he congratulated the leadership of all three countries and described the agreement as an important first step.

Under the agreement signed on August 7, an attack against any of the participating states will be regarded as an act of aggression against all parties. The pact was signed by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
