Delegations from Lebanon and Israel will hold the eighth round of talks on a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Rome on September 15-16.

Operativ Media reports that the Al Jazeera television channel released this information, citing diplomatic sources.

According to the report, the meetings will focus on the creation of new "pilot zones" in army-controlled areas in southern Lebanon.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam stated that the government's primary goal is to ensure the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from the country's territory and the safe return of southern residents.
