A new framework agreement is expected to be reached between Iran and Arab countries in the region regarding the use of the Strait of Hormuz for shipping.

Operativ Media reports that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said this in an interview with India Today.

According to him, Iran has already held talks with Oman on the matter, and an understanding has been reached on a specific framework for shipping.

Pezeshkian stated that foreign ministers of Arab countries in the region will hold a meeting tomorrow in Muscat, the capital of Oman.

During the meeting, an agreement on the Hormuz route is expected to be finalized, after which the international maritime organization will be notified.

The Iranian president noted that if the US stops its attacks, the route will remain open in accordance with international law, based on the established framework.

Pezeshkian also called on regional countries to cooperate in ensuring peace and security. He stated that Iran is ready to cooperate with neighboring states to maintain regional security and expand economic ties.
