Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan may visit Syria in the near future.

Operativ Media reports that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said this during a joint press conference with his Syrian counterpart, Asad Al-Shaibani.

The diplomat stated that the Turkish leader has long intended to make this visit, and work is currently underway to create the appropriate conditions.

"Our president's visit to Syria is planned for the near future. He has wanted to make such a visit for a long time. We are working to create the conditions for this visit," Fidan emphasized.

The Turkish Foreign Minister did not disclose the exact date of the visit.
