Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer wants to opt out of England's Nations League matches in September and October.

The main reason the 24-year-old player wants to skip the national team camp is to reduce his workload. Palmer last played for England in March. He was also not included in the squad for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

In addition, Manchester United players Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo may also miss England's upcoming matches. They sustained injuries during the 1-1 draw against Fulham in the fifth round of the English Premier League. Their conditions will be assessed following medical examinations.

England will face Spain in London on September 26, the Czech Republic in Prague on September 29, and Croatia in Rijeka on October 3. The team will face the Czech Republic again in London on October 6.
