Mirzoyan: Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Armenia must turn into long-term peace

The declared peace in the South Caucasus must be accompanied by concrete actions and real results that will benefit not only the countries of the region, but also those beyond it.

Operativ Media reports that Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this during his address at the final panel discussion of the Manama Dialogue forum held in Bahrain.

"The experience of the South Caucasus demonstrates not only how costly long-standing conflict is, but also the opportunities diplomacy can create. However, political commitment must be accompanied by concrete actions and real results," he noted.

According to Mirzoyan, the principles of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Armenia should translate into long-term peace and security. For this, implemented projects must benefit not only regional countries, but also states located beyond its borders.

He believes that connectivity that creates opportunities and mutual benefits for all interested parties shapes common interests and strengthens the collective commitment to maintaining peace and stability.

In this context, the Armenian foreign minister emphasized the importance of implementing the TRIPP ("Trump Route") project. The project encompasses railway, electricity, fiber-optic, oil, and gas infrastructure.

According to the minister, the project will play a crucial role in strengthening connections not only between Baku and Yerevan as well as immediate neighboring countries, but also between East and West, North and South.
