Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has detained two oil tankers for allegedly attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz via an unauthorized route.

Operativ Media reports that the statement was issued by the IRGC Navy Command.

The statement claimed that the tankers turned off their navigation systems, attempted to travel along a route not approved by Iran, and ignored warnings. It was also reported that a fire broke out on board the vessels.

The IRGC noted that the incident was related to non-compliance with navigation rules established by Iran.
