Didier Deschamps rejects offer from Manchester United
Former France national team head coach Didier Deschamps has no intention of working at Manchester United.
Operativ Media reports, citing the Daily Mirror, that the 57-year-old specialist informed the English club that he is not considering taking up the post. Following his departure from the French national team, he decided to take a break and refrain from returning to coaching for now.
On November 5, Foot Mercato reported that Manchester United management had contacted Deschamps to discuss a potential appointment.
Michael Carrick is currently the head coach of the English club. Under his leadership, the team sits 18th in the Premier League table for the 2026/2027 season with 7 points.
Didier Deschamps managed the French national team from 2012 to 2026. During his tenure as head coach, the team became World Champions in 2018 and won the Nations League in 2021. France also reached the finals of the 2016 European Championship and the 2022 World Cup.
