U.S. President Donald Trump has praised the role of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in the peace process.

Operativ Media reports that the U.S. President stated this during a phone call with the Azerbaijani leader.

During the telephone conversation, satisfaction was expressed that peace and stability have been maintained in the region in the year following the Peace Summit held in Washington on August 8, 2025, which ensured peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, with no incidents occurring that could undermine regional peace.
