According to reports, Kushner urged Hamas representatives during the meeting to fulfill their commitments regarding disarmament.

The meeting marked Kushner's first contact with Hamas leadership since the agreement to end the war in Gaza reached last October.

The meeting was also attended by Nickolay Mladenov, senior representative of the U.S. Peace Council; Tony Blair, council member and former British Prime Minister; Khalil al-Hayya, Hamas political leader; Hassan Rashad, head of Egyptian intelligence; as well as representatives from Qatar and Türkiye.

The primary topic of discussion was reportedly turning Hamas's commitment to demilitarizing Gaza into concrete and verifiable steps.

Kushner is expected to travel to Israel next to discuss the steps Israel needs to take with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
