Former Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets will take up a coaching role with the Catalan club's reserve team.

Operativ Media reports that the 38-year-old Spanish specialist will serve as an assistant to Barcelona Atletic head coach Juliano Belletti. The 50-year-old Brazilian manager has been in charge of the side since 2025.

Busquets, who retired from playing in 2025, played for Barcelona between 2006 and 2023 before moving to MLS side Inter Miami, where he ended his playing career.

During his career, he won the Spanish championship nine times, the UEFA Champions League three times, the UEFA Super Cup three times, and the FIFA Club World Cup three times, as well as lifting the Copa del Rey seven times and the Spanish Super Cup seven times.
