A group of members of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis will visit Kazakhstan on August 20 to monitor the elections to the country's new unicameral parliament, the Kurultai, as international observers.

Operativ Media reports, citing the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis.

MPs Sabina Salmanova (Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS), Nasib Mahamaliyev (CIS Executive Committee), Gulshan Pashayeva (OSCE Parliamentary Assembly), and Gunay Afandiyeva (Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States - TURKPA) will observe the elections in Astana, while MP Hikmat Mammadov will monitor the voting process in Almaty as part of the TURKPA mission.

During the visit, the lawmakers will inspect preparations and conditions at polling stations and observe the voting process and voter turnout.

The visit will conclude on August 25.
